कविता से 

1. कठपुतली को गुस्सा क्यों आया?

उत्तर: कठपुतली को गुस्सा इसलिए आया क्योंकि वह हमेशा दूसरों के इशारों पर नाचती थी। उसे चारों ओर से धागों के बंधन से बांध रखा थी और वह दूसरों की आज्ञाओं का पालन करते-करते थक गई थी।अब वह अपने पांव पर खड़ी होना चाहती है व आत्मनिर्भर बनना चाहती थी। 

2. कठपुतली को अपने पाँवों पर खड़ी होने की इच्छा है, लेकिन वह क्यों नहीं खड़ी होती?

उत्तर: कठपुतली अपने पांव पर खड़ी होना चाहती है परंतु खड़ी नहीं होती क्योंकि उसके पैरों में स्वतंत्र रूप से खड़े होने की शक्ति नहीं है। स्वतंत्रता के लिए सिर्फ इच्छा ही नहीं, साहस होना भी ज़रूरी होता है जो कठपुतली में नहीं है। उसे भी यह भी डर है कि उसके इस कदम से अन्य कठपुतलिओं पर क्या असर पड़ेगा। 

3. पहली कठपुतली की बात दूसरी कठपुतलियों को क्यों अच्छी लगीं?

उत्तर: जब पहली कठपुतली ने स्वतंत्र होने व आत्मनिर्भर होने की बात कही तो दूसरी कठपुतलियों को भी यह बात प्रेरक लगी। वे सब भी अपनी इच्छानुसार जीना चाहती थी। उन्हें भी आत्मनिर्भर बनना था। इसी कारण से दूसरी कठपुतलियों को पहली कठपुतली की बात अच्छी लगी और उन्होंने सहमति दिखाई। 

4. पहली कठपुतली ने स्वयं कहा कि-‘ये धागे / क्यों है मेरे पीछे-आगे? / इन्हें तोड़ दो; / मुझे मेरे पाँवों पर छोड़ दो।’ -तो फिर वह चिंतित क्यों हुई कि-‘ये कैसी इच्छा / मेरे मन में जगी ?’ नीचे दिए वाक्यों की सहायता से अपने विचार व्यक्त कीजिए

• उसे दूसरी कठपुतलियों की जिम्मेदारी महसूस होने लगी।

• उसे शीघ्र स्वतंत्र होने की चिंता होने लगी।

• वह स्वतंत्रता की इच्छा को साकार करने और स्वतंत्रता को हमेशा बनाए रखने के उपाय सोचने लगी।

• वह डर गई, क्योंकि उसकी उम्र कम थी।

उत्तर: पहली कठपुतली अपने पांव पर खड़ी होना चाहती थी अर्थात पराधीनता उसे पसंद नहीं थी।वह आत्मनिर्भर बनना चाहती थी परन्तु जब उसे अन्य कठपुतलियों की ज़िम्मेदारी का याद आया तो वह डर गई और चिंतित हो गई कि कहीं उसका उठाया गया कदम दूसरों को मुसीबत में ना डाल दे इसलिए उसे शीघ्र स्वतंत्र होने की चिंता होने लगी।वह स्वतंत्रता की इच्छा को साकार करने और स्वतंत्रता को हमेशा बनाए रखने के उपाय सोचने लगी। साथ-ही-साथ उसकी उम्र भी कम थी, सोच विचार का दायरा सीमित था अतः उसे दूसरों के सहारे की भी ज़रुरत थी। 

कविता से आगे

1. ‘बहुत दिन हुए / हमें अपने मन के छंद छुए।’-इस पंक्ति का अर्थ और क्या हो सकता है? नीचे दिए हुए वाक्यों की सहायता से सोचिए और अर्थ लिखिए-

(क) बहुत दिन हो गए, मन में कोई उमंग नहीं आई।

(ख) बहुत दिन हो गए, मन के भीतर कविता-सी कोई बात नहीं उठी, जिसमें छंद हो, लय हो।

(ग) बहुत दिन हो गए, गाने-गुनगुनाने का मन नहीं हुआ।

(घ) बहुत दिन हो गए, मन का दुख दूर नहीं हुआ और न मन में खुशी आई।

उत्तर: ‘बहुत दिन हुए / हमें अपने मन के छंद छुए।’ पंक्ति का यह अर्थ है कि बहुत दिन हो गए परन्तु मन का दुःख अभी तक गया नहीं और मन में ख़ुशी अभी तक आई नहीं अर्थात कठपुतलियों की स्वतंत्र होने की इच्छा पूरी न होने से अत्यधिक दुखी है।  

2. नीचे दो स्वतंत्रता आंदोलनों के वर्ष दिए गए हैं। इन दोनों आंदोलनों के दो-दो स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों के नाम लिखिए

अनुमान और कल्पना

1. स्वतंत्र होने की लड़ाई कठपुतलियाँ कैसे लड़ी होंगी और स्वतंत्र होने के बाद स्वावलंबी होने के लिए क्या-क्या प्रयत्न किए होंगे? यदि उन्हें फिर से धागे में बाँधकर नचाने के प्रयास हुए होंगे तब उन्होंने अपनी रक्षा किस तरह के उपायों से की होगी?

उत्तर: स्वतंत्र होने के लिए कठपुतलियाँ एकजुट होकर लड़ाई लड़ी होंगी क्योंकि सबकी परेशानी एक समान थी।उन्होंने विचार किया होगा और स्वतंत्र होने के बाद स्वावलंबी होने के लिए उन्होंने एकाग्रता, हिम्मत और धैर्य के साथ - साथ संघर्ष किया होगा। यदि उन्हें फिर से धागे में बाँधकर नचाने के प्रयास किया गया होगा तो उन्होंने मिलकर इसका विरोध किया होगा तथा अपनी इच्छा अनुसार एवं स्वतंत्रता के साथ आगे कदम बढ़ाए होंगे।  

भाषा की बात

1. कई बार जब दो शब्द आपस में जुड़ते हैं तो उनके मूल रूप में परिवर्तन हो जाता है। कठपुतली शब्द में भी इस प्रकार का सामान्य परिवर्तन हुआ है। जब काठ और पुतली दो शब्द एक साथ हुए कठपुतली शब्द बन गया और इससे बोलने में सरलता आ गई। इस प्रकार के कुछ शब्द बनाइए जैसे-काठ (कठ) से बना-कठगुलाब, कठफोड़ा

उत्तर: हाथ - हथकड़ी, हथकरघा 

सोना - सोनभद्र, सोनजुही 

मिट्टी - मटमैला, मटकोड 

2.कविता की भाषा में लय या तालमेल बनाने के लिए प्रचलित शब्दों और वाक्यों में बदलाव होता है। जैसे-आगे-पीछे अधिक प्रचलित शब्दों की जोड़ी है, लेकिन कविता में ‘पीछे-आगे’ का प्रयोग हुआ है। यहाँ ‘आगे’ का ‘…बोली ये धागे’ से ध्वनि का तालमेल है। इस प्रकार के शब्दों की जोड़ियों में आप भी परिवर्तन कीजिए-दुबला-पतला, इधर-उधर, ऊपर-नीचे, दाएँ-बाएँ, गोरा-काला, लाल-पीला आदि।
