Class 2 Hindi Chapter 15

The story is about 2 sisters Ekki and Dokki who live with their parents. Ekki and Dokki have only one and two hairs on their head respectively. Dokki is the arrogant one of the two. The mother of two also used to give more preference to Dokki and thinks that her daughter Dokki is the most beautiful in the entire world. One day Ekki went deep into the forest. Soon she heard someone calling for help. A nearby Mehndi bush was asking for water. Ekki brought some water in her hands several times and poured it over the Mehendi bush. The bush thanked her and told her that she will always remember her act of help.

Ekki went further and again heard cries of help. A nearby cow was very hungry. Ekki collected some straw and fed it to the cow. The cow was also thankful to Ekki and thanked her. Soon Ekki started feeling tired. She found an old hut nearby and went towards it. To her surprise, an old lady was there. She asked Ekki to take a bath. After Ekki took the bath, her head was now full of hair. Ekki thanked the old lady very much. On her way back the cow gave her milk and mehndi bush gave her some mehndi. When she returned and told the story, Dokki heard it and immediately ran towards the jungle.

In Fact, she ran so fast that she didn't hear any cries for help. She found the hut and demanded the old day to prepare the bath. After she took the bath, she was shocked, her 2 strands of hair had now vanished. On her way back the cow hit her and a thorn from the bush hurt her. She now understood her lesson.
