1. गूंगे ने अपने स्वाभिमानी होने का परिचय किस प्रकार दिया?

उत्तर: गूंगे ने अपने स्वाभिमानी होने का परिचय संकेतों के माध्यम से दिया। उसने अपनी बाजुओं को दिखाते हुए यह संकेत दिया की उसने हमेशा मेहनत कर के ही खाया है। उसने अपने सीने पर हाथ रखकर बताया कि उसने कभी किसी के सामने हाथ नहीं फैलाएं है। फिर उसने अपने पेट पर हाथ लगाकर बताया कि यह सब वह अपने पेट की भूख के कारण करता है।

2. ‘मनुष्य की करुणा की भावना उसके भीतर के गूंगेपन की प्रतिच्छाया है।’ कहानी के इस कथन को वर्तमान सामाजिक प्रवेश के संदर्भ में स्पष्ट कीजिए।

उत्तर: कहानी के इस कथन में की मनुष्य की करुण भावना उसके भीतर के गूंगेपन की प्रतिच्छाया है लेखक ने इसका संबंध सामाजिक परिवेश के संदर्भ में किया है। क्योंकि मनुष्य में संवेदना का करुण भाव होता है जो उसकी चेतना को दर्शाता है। यदि मनुष्य में संवेदना ही नहीं है तो वह अपने दायित्वों के प्रति भी सचेत नहीं हैं। वह समाज में हो रहे अपने साथ भेद के खिलाफ आवाज भी नहीं उठाते। ये सभी के भीतर ही दबी रहती है। वे सभी मूक रहकर सभी सहते रहते हैं।

3. ‘नाली का कीड़ा’ एक छत उठाकर सिर पर रख दी, फिर भी मन नहीं भरा।’– चेमली का यह कथन किस संदर्भ में कहा गया है और इसके माध्यम से उसके किन मनोभावों का पता लगता है?

उत्तर: चमेली का ये कथन उसकी गूंगे के प्रति मनोभावों को दर्शाता है। उसने गूंगे को अपने घर पर रहने के लिए आश्रय दिया था। लेकिन वह बिना बताए घर से चला जाता है। जिसपर चमेली कहती है की ‘नाली का कीड़ा’ कहने से तात्पर्य है की एक बेसहारा इंसान को चाहे कितना भी सहारा दे दे, लेकिन उसे रहना अपनी बेबसी में ही हैं। किसी के भावों का उसके लिए कोई महत्व नहीं है।

4. यदि बसंता गूंगा होता तो आपकी दृष्टि में चमेली का व्यवहार उसके प्रति कैसा होता?

उत्तर: यदि चमेली का बेटा बसंता गूंगा होता तो उसके प्रति चमेली का व्यवहार बिलकुल ही अलग होता। क्योंकि वह उसका अपना बेटा है। उसके साथ उसके भाव, प्रेम और संवेदनाएं जुड़ी हुई होती है। वह बसंता की सारी बातें समझने की कोशिश करती और उसे बहुत प्यार करती।

5. उसकी आँखों में पानी भरा था। जैसे उनमें एक शिकायत थी, पक्षपात के प्रति तिरस्कार था।’ क्यों?

उत्तर: गूंगा चमेली को बहुत मानता था। जब चमेली गूंगे की अपेक्षा अपने बेटे का पक्ष लेती है तो गूंगे की आँखों में पानी भरा था। उनमें एक शिकायत थी, पक्षपात के प्रति तिरस्कार था। ऐसा इसलिए था क्योंकि वह चाहता था की चमेली उसकी भी बात सुनें और उसका पक्ष ले। लेकिन स्थिति इसके विपरित होने के कारण उसकी आँखों में पानी भर जाता है और उनमें चमेली के प्रति शिकायत और पक्षपात के प्रति तिरस्कार था।

6. ‘गूंगा दया या सहानुभूति नहीं, अधिकार चाहता था।’ सिद्ध कीजिए।

उत्तर: गूंगा चमेली के घर पर रहने लग गया था। उसे वहां पर अपनत्व का एहसास होता है। लेकिन वह उस घर में अपने गूंगे होने के कारण दया या सहानुभूति नहीं चाहता है, बल्कि अधिकार चाहता है। जोकि एक घर में एक सदस्य को मिलता है। वह नहीं चाहता की कोई उसे लाचार और बेचारा समझे।

7. गूंगे कहानी पढ़कर आपके मन में कौनसे भाव उत्पन्न होते हैं और क्यों?

उत्तर: गूंगे कहानी पढ़कर हमारे मन में आत्मनिर्भर, स्वाभिमान और अपनत्व का भाव उत्पन्न होता है। क्योंकि गूंगा लड़का अपनी कमजोरी को अपनी लाचारी नहीं मानता है। वह अपना पेट अपनी मेहनत से भरता है। किसी से भीख भी नहीं मांगता है। क्योंकि वह स्वाभिमानी है। और खुद अपने दम पर अपना काम करता है। जब चमेली उसे अपने घर पर रख लेती है तो चमेली के साथ उसका एक अपनापन स्थापित हो जाता है।

8. कहानी का शीर्षक गूंगे है जबकि कहानी में सिर्फ एक ही गूंगा पात्र है। इसके माध्यम से लेखक ने समाज की किस प्रवृति की ओर संकेत किया है?

उत्तर: समाज में लोग लाचार और बेबस लोगों पर अत्याचार करते हैं। वे इनपर अपना अधिकार जमाते है और उनका शोषण करते है। ये सारी गतिविधियां समाज के अन्य लोग बिना कुछ किए और बोले देखते रहते है। वे सब गूंगे बनकर सारा दृश्य देखते रहते है। कोई भी उसके विरुद्ध कोई आवाज नहीं उठता। सभी मूक बन रहते है। इसलिए लेखक ने कहानी में समाज की मूक प्रवृति की तरफ इशारा किया है, और इसे एक गूंगे लड़के के माध्यम से समझाने का प्रयत्न किया है।

9. यदि ‘स्किल इंडिया’ जैसा कोई कार्यक्रम होता तो क्या गूंगे को दया और सहानुभूति का पात्र बनना पड़ता?

उत्तर: यदि स्किल इंडिया जैसा कोई कार्यक्रम होता तो गूंगे को दया और सहानुभूति का पात्र नहीं बनना पड़ेगा। क्योंकि उसको सभी समझना का प्रयास करेंगे। उसे कुछ करने और आत्मविश्वास के लिए प्रोत्साहित करेंगे। ऐसे कार्यक्रम में वह अपना जैसे और बच्चों से भी मिलते है, जिससे उसको एक अपनेपन का एहसास होगा।

Class 11 Antra Chapter 4 Gunge is written by Rangay Raghav. He is a well-known writer in Hindi literature from Agra. Raghav worked on many forms of literature from stories, poems, novels, etc. In this chapter namely ‘Gunge’, he sends a message to society that the handicapped and differently able persons should not be treated just like a normal person. He also has shown how society discriminates against them from other persons. He also criticized emotionless persons because they don't care what happens in their surroundings, who doesn't care about others' suffering.

In this story, a person who is a speech impediment and how he works hard and does not beg anyone. He used to make laddus, wash utensils, and clothes to earn money. In this story, Gunge is depicted as a character of compassion and sympathy who doesn't want others' mercy and sympathy, but respect and affinity.
