  • Chapter 12 मेरे तो गिरधर गोपाल दूसरो न कोई, पग घुँघरू बाधि मीरां नाची: Mirabai is seen conversing to her spouse, Lord Krishna, in the first section. In the second, she reveals that she is head over heels in love with her spouse and is unconcerned about what others think of her.

NCERT Solutions Class 11 Hindi Summary

Dhanpat Rai Srivastav who is popularly known as Munshi Premchand was born on July 31, 1880, in a village, Lamhi, near the city of Varanasi. In his early education days, he learned Urdu and Persian and then went on to study the English language in a missionary school. The sad demise of his mother took place when Munshi Premchand was 8 years old. After 9 years, his father interfered with his education. He went on to become self-sufficient by taking tuitions and then became an assistant teacher at a government school in 1900. 

He started writing fiction there. And while he still kept on pursuing other jobs he also continued writing. One such story is NCERT Hindi Class 11 ‘Eidgah’. This story was written by Munshi Premchand in his days in Gorakhpur. The idea published in this story is derived from Gorakhpur’s Eid fair. While India was going through its own freedom struggle this story focused on the farmers and labourers of the country.

 

Summary of Namak ka Daroga

This story is of the time when in India the cost of Salt was extremely high. The rich became richer. This increase occurred due to taxation policies. The protagonist of this story is Munshi Bansidhar who belonged to a family in debt. He was the only working member of the family. Luckily, he got a job as a salt inspector, or as the title says, Namak ka Daroga.

Circumstances change and he then ended up finding out about a wrong activity that was being pursued by one of the richest landlords. Munshi knew that he can earn a lot of money from this but decided against it. He made sure the landlord Alopi Deen gets arrested, but the landlord managed to get bail and made sure Munshi Bansidhar did not find another job.

Munshi paid the cost of honesty not only through the loss of his job but also had to face the anger of his family. However, later all the restrictions on Munshi Bansidhar getting the job were removed by the landlord because he was impressed with his honesty and strength to follow his morals despite the backlash he faced.
